Biography

Juli Cragg Hilliard writes about Florida, travel, food, religion and spirituality, ethics, social issues, books and authors, popular culture and entertainment, health, and business.

Juli has contributed to U.S. News & World Report, Publishers Weekly, Beliefnet, the Religion News Service, ReligionLink, the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, the St. Petersburg Times, the Tampa Bay Business Journal, Manatee magazine, and Sarasota magazine.

Before freelancing, Juli was most recently at the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, where she spent 11 years on the features staff and developed a specialty in writing about religion and spirituality. She won third place for National Religion Writer of the Year and was awarded first place by the Florida Press Club for religion reporting among the state's largest-circulation newspapers.

Juli grew up in Missouri, and has a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She lives on Florida's Gulf Coast with her husband, two daughters and a Siamese-mix cat.
